SMG Food & Beverage Runner in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Summary: Responsible for local food preparation, assist in preparing location and area for day to day operation, accurate accounting and all transactions and assist with local inventory controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Fulfilling the service requirements detailed in each Banquet Event Orders (BEO) or at the request of your Supervisor.
  • Responsible for all Banquet equipment cleanliness and assisting in annual maintenance.
  • Assist in the creation, design and set-up of buffets and coffee break d├ęcor.
  • Assist in the setup, execution and breakdown of all catering functions.
  • Abide by and maintain established accurate inventory control procedures at all times.
  • Assist in cleaning of uniforms and banquet linens.
  • Provide great customer service.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions and leave work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Coordinate with the Concessions Supervisors, Bartenders and/or Runners to maintain adequate inventory levels for proper and uninterrupted concessions/bar service.
  • Interact with customers, clients and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions and leave work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Abides by all SMG policies in the Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual and the Business Code of Conduct.
  • Must have a commanding and demonstrative understanding and knowledge of all of the above.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to stand/walk for the duration of shift and must be able to carry and lift according to industry standards
  • Basic working knowledge of food and beverage operations and food preparation.
  • Must have a positive attitude and neat appearance.
  • Must speak and understand English well enough to converse with customers, supervisors, and employees.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be ServSafe certified and have, or be willing to obtain a City/Parish Responsible Server Bar Card.
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Working Conditions: Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Physical requirements include walking, stooping, lifting up to 30 lbs. and standing for the duration of the shift.
