The Eye Health Specialist represents the organization by interacting with established customers and developing new prospects to sell the organization's portfolio of eye health products. Applies a broad knowledge of the organization's products, services and marketing campaigns to close sales and maintain relations with specifically identified customers. The Eye Health Specialist engages and influences major accounts as well as channels in assigned territory. They are required to uncover and understand customer’s strategic priorities, buying motives, end user needs, office processes, and business operations and deliver tailored training and messaging to gain an order or product commitment.

The Eye Health Specialist works across business units connecting customers, products, services, and company offerings establishing Johnson & Johnson Vision as the leader in eye health. Collaborates with JJV Territory Account Managers and Surgical team on all activities, routing, and customer information.

The Eye Health Specialist has the ability to manage complexity and translate into action, and collaborates across the field sales organization as well as cross functionally within Home Office.

The Eye Health Specialist is responsible for learning Johnson & Johnson Vision’s current and future products, services and policies in preparation for selling. This will be accomplished by participating in sales training activities, studying marketing techniques by reading manuals, completing eLearning modules, attending seminars and training in the field with experienced JJV Account Specialists.

The Eye Health Specialist demonstrates knowledge of organization's products and services and possesses the ability to articulate added value in a dialogue with the customer while securing orders, keeps customers abreast of eye health and market trends, and maintains records and reports of all phases of activities. In addition, the Eye Health Specialist has the ability to demonstrate scientific and economic product differentiation to customers in a compliant manner while maintaining US sales program initiatives within assigned territory. The Eye Health Specialist also has the ability to understand customers’ business and segment in order to position products and economic solutions as the best option for the customer and their patients, while delivering a competitive clinical and financial message tailored to meet the customer’s unique need. The Eye Health Specialist effectively communicates and utilizes multiple resources, data, and tools to deliver a clear and concise sales message.


Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.

  • A minimum of 6 years of business-to-business and/or medical sales OR, any equivalent combination of sales and/or industry experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved is required.

  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license issued in one of the 50 states.

  • This role requires 75% travel (as needed) which may include weekly overnight and/or weekend travel.

  • Excellent interpersonal, completive selling technique, business acumen, organizational skills, managing complexity, written and oral communication skills are required.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of sales applications and principles are required.

  • Track record of successful sales results is required.

  • Candidates must live in the geography highlighted and or willing to relocate into the respective market.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of outside professional sales experience, business-to-business and/or medical sales experience is strongly preferred.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with documented sales awards and achievements, prior management development training and/or have taken career development classes or completion of major sales training courses.

  • Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating required sales experience within adequate distance to the territory.
