Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System Assistant Professor of Chemistry/Institutional and Academic Grants Director - FMOL UNIVERSITY in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is seeking a full-time, 12-month chemistry faculty member at the rank of assistant professor who also carries a half-time appointment as institutional & academic grants director. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2018.
Specific responsibilities of this position are as follows:
Embrace and advance the Catholic, Franciscan mission of the university by ensuring that all teaching, service and scholarly responsibilities are consistent with the mission and implemented to achieve its goals
Teaching organic chemistry and other introductory or upper level chemistry courses/labs as needed
Provide service to the institution in a faculty member role
Create and maintain systems for dissemination of funding opportunities, application processes, and other grant related materials
Identify external funding which match the University mission and support strategic priorities
Write, edit, revise and/or submit grant proposals consistent with funding requirements
Develop an annual strategic plan to encompass institutional needs for project/program advancement.
Qualifications:
Required
Master’s degree in Chemistry with emphasis on organic chemistry
1 year of teaching at an institution of higher education
1 year of grant writing experience
Preferred
- Ph.D. in Chemistry with emphasis on organic chemistry
